“Colewell” Mix Wrapped

February 17th, 2019

At the start of this year we wrapped up the mix on “Colewell”. This was my first show at Skywalker as a Supervising Sound Editor / Sound Designer and it couldn’t have been a more rewarding experience.

The show initially came to Skywalker in the summer of 2018 though the Sundance Music & Sound Lab where I got to work with the director Tom Quinn and composer Dara Taylor creating original music and sound for a short segment of the greater work. We had a great time working together so I had no hesitation when asked if I would like to supervise the show later that year. We began editorial work in late November and began mixing in the new year. Here’s a photo of myself with re-recording mixer Pete Horner, director Tom Quinn and composer Dara Taylor on the mix stage.

“Colewell” is a beautiful and delicate film that needed great care and attention when it came to both the sound and music. Dara excelled in creating a beautiful score to match and support the picture and I want to say how proud I am of what my crew at Skywalker accomplished on the sound side. I’m always humbled by the talent and expertise of those I’m fortunate enough to call my coworkers and friends.
